The Five Stages of DEI Maturity
Ella Washington writes in the Harvard Business Review that many CEOs and Chief Human Resources Officers throw up their hands when dealing with DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion). “DEI work is too hard. It takes too long to see the results,” they tell her. Washington suggests the best way to be successful at DEI initiatives is to understand the stages of developing a successful DEI program so as to focus on the most impactful strategies at any given stage, which she identifies as Aware, Compliant, Tactical, Integrated and Sustainable.
